PERFORMANCE BODY SHOP FIRST IN AREA TO GO GREEN
Sacramento, CA. Mark Waldermarson, shop manager, announced that Performance Chevrolet is the first body repair shop in the county to convert to full compliance for the new water based paint "clean air" law. Sacramento County is requiring all commercial shops to go to the new water based paint technologies next year. "Performance Chevrolet has always been an innovator and leader in this industry by bringing in the newest equipment, tools and safety processes, and now water based paint. This move allows us to exceed current EPA guidelines and be well in front of our competition." Mark continued.
This new PPG product - PPG is the leader in the automotive finish industry - is called Envirobase and is a waterborne primer, basecoat and finish system that meets the new clean air standards. More importantly the technology behind this system allows Performance Chevrolet's Body Shop to continue delivering exceptional color matches and finishes on all repairs.
"Our painters and management have been fully trained by PPG in the peperation and application processes for these new waterbourne finishes allowing our shop to eliminate the solvent based paints." said Waldermarson. He added with a smile, "This new technology includes very sophisticated color-matching measurement and mixing systems. Our painters are becoming chemists. But, we feel very good knowing we are looking out for environmental sensitivities."
